Last week Zach and I baked up
these toasty sandwiches for dinner. I've used this recipe for several years, even though I don't eat ham very often. We've had croque monsieurs in
California, made them for 30 people on our family vacation, but usually enjoy them when it's just the two of us. This time, I tried the sandwich with whole wheat bread, but I still prefer white or sourdough.
Oh - and splurge on good cheese. The cheap stuff ends up melting like plastic - yuck.
